Pretty soon you’ll be able to ride the Nintendo roller coaster

Nintendo has announced a partnership with Universal Parks and Resorts to develop theme park attractions based on the gaming giant’s iconic franchises and characters.
While details are still thin on the ground, the two entertainment big-hitters have vowed to “work to create specific concepts” based around the likes of the Mario and Zelda galaxies.
“Now, for the first time, those stories and characters will be brought to life in entirely new ways – only at Universal theme parks,” the joint announcement read.
”The immersive experiences will include major attractions at Universal’s theme parks and will feature Nintendo’s most famous characters and games.”
The parks currently feature Harry Potter World, a dedicated The Simpsons Ride, a Spider-Man virtual roller coaster and an utterly tremendous Jurassic Park ride.

It’ll be intriguing to see how the two companies manage to bring Nintendo experiences to life, but one would imagine a Mario Kart roller coaster might be among the first simulations on the list.
The partnership is part of Nintendo’s plans to expand its brand presence beyond first party console experiences for the Nintendo Wii U and 3DS.
The company recently announced plans to work with developer DeNA in order to produce mobile games for iOS and Android, something long demanded by fans.
