Pornhub downloads are no longer safe and this is the reason why

Been using Digital Mind Co.’s Private Photo app to hide your Pornhub downloaded content and other explicit images on your phone? Then you’ll be horrified to hear that the app is no more after having been removed from Apple’s App Store.

The app worked by presenting itself as an innocuous calculator app, but entering a secret combination of numbers would reveal (shock horror!) that the calculator portion of the app is just a front for an image gallery – one where you could theoretically save images that you don’t want others to be able to see.

What kind of images you say?

Well, we’d imagine most people would want to hide photos of surprise gifts they’re planning on giving their partner, or perhaps photographs of a venue where they’re planning on hosting a surprise party. You know, that sort of thing.

Oddly, the app’s promotional images show a lot of exposed skin, which frankly we’re stumped by.

Reassuringly, the app’s removal doesn’t appear to be part of a wider crackdown by Apple, reports Cult of Mac.

Similar apps like Secret photos KYMS and Safe -Photo Hider & Pic Locker appear to be unaffected, indicating that it’s something specific about Digital Mind Co.’s apps that appears to have been the issue. As well as Private Photo, Private Browser and Calculator+ appear to have also been removed.

So fear not illicit gift-givers and party-organisers, there are still plenty of other options if you want to hide images on your phone that you’d rather others not see.
