Pong iPad mini case will protect you against radiation

Pong Research has released the Pong iPad mini case, a wireless radiation diffusing iPad case for the Apple iPad mini.

The Pong iPad mini case diverts harmful wireless radiation away from the user while also improving the iPad mini’s 4G, 3G and Wi-Fi signal strength.

The Apple iPad mini has an inbuilt human body sensor that limits the device’s antennae power when coming close to the user’s body, complying with wireless safety exposure limits. The sensor cannot however distinguish between human bodies and other objects.

“The iPad mini may be smaller than the standard iPad, but like any wireless devices, the iPad mini emits electromagnetic radiation when communicating with cell towers or Wi-Fi routers,” said Todd DeYoung, CEO at Pong Research. “Adding any typical third-party case can potentially trigger the device’s human proximity sensor even when the iPad mini is not close to the user’s body, and can result in significantly reduced signal strength,” added DeYoung.

The Pong iPad mini case, like the Pong iPad case, uses a micro antenna to redirect the radiation away from the user in synch with the human body sensor within the device.

Featuring an origami-style front cover, the Pong iPad mini case folds into different positions according to the user’s needs, whether it be typing, watching videos or surfing the net. A NanoLiner interior on the protective rear cover also cushions the iPad mini limiting any scratches on the body.

The case is made from a material that looks and feels like leather and features the automatic sleep and wake technology for the iPad mini.

4G signals are boosted 13.2 times more and the LTE range extended 3.6 times in comparison to when users opt for other cases. Cellular radiation drops up to 91 per cent below the global safety limits and Wi-Fi radiation drops by up to 82 per cent. At home when using the Pong iPad mini case, the iPad mini will benefit from 2.2 times increased Wi-Fi reception and an increased range of up to 1.5 times the normal rate.
