However, judging by reports on Wednesday, a version for those who don’t really like exploring the real world all that much might be on the way.
The eagle-eyed bods at the PokeSteal fan page (via 9to5Google) found a reference to the Google Cardboard VR headset within the settings and licensing page for the Android app.

What this means, if anything, isn’t entirely clear.
Players seem to be having enough problems avoiding bumping into strangers or car crashes when playing the game without wearing an immersive VR headset.
Perhaps gamers may one day be able to roam around a Google Street View style map from the comfort of their La-Z-boy?
Either way, it seems there are plentiful folks looking to capitalise on the phenomenally-successful mobile title.
An animal shelter in Indiana wants to take advantage on all this extra activity and encourage Poketrainers to walk up-for-adoption dogs while playing the game.
A post on the Muncie Animal Shelter’s Facebook page (via TIME) read: “Trying to hatch an egg or catch rare Pokémon? Come down to the Muncie Animal Shelter to walk one of our dogs while you get your steps in!
“Just come to the front desk and say you are here for the Pokémon dogs!”
