PlayStation VR release date: Sony confirms headset to arrive in October

The PlayStation VR release date was confirmed during Sony’s GDC press conference as October 2016

The price of the highly-anticipated headset was also revealed, costing $399, or £349 in the UK.

Compared to the Oculus Rift (£499) and HTC Vive (£689), the PlayStation VR is substantially cheaper. However, it’s worth noting that the headset will not include the PlayStation Move camera, which is required for the VR headset, nor any Move controllers. Both the camera and controllers retail at approximately £40 each.

Sony also confirmed that the headset will allow for both Dualshock and PS Move input support. The headset will feature a 5.7-inch OLED screen with a 1920 x 1080 resolution split across both eyes.
