PlayStation VR is the official name for Project Morpheus

Sony has confirmed that PlayStation VR is the official name for Project Morpheus, its virtual reality headset.
The Project Morpheus has finally been branded with its official name: PlayStation VR.
The new name for the hardware was revealed by President of Sony Computer Entertainment Japen Atsushi Morita, at Sony’s Tokyo Game Show 2015 press conference.
Morish added that the “combination of PS4 and PlayStation VR will provide you with a gaming experience like never before”.
He also said the company hopes the upcoming virtual reality headset will be a “sensation”.

Sadly, aside from the official name, Sony didn’t give us any information on PlayStation VR.
That includes any inkling of a more concrete release date.
Back in June, Sony’s head of Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida said that key details surrounding the VR headset’s launch plans were still to be confirmed.
For now we’ll have to settle for the loose 2016 release date that we’ve been given so far.
