The newly-renamed PlayStation VR could cost the same as a PS4 when it is launched next year.
Sony has teased that Project Morpheus, now officially known as the PlayStation VR, may cost you around the £350 mark at launch.
In a recent interview with Bloomberg, Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Andrew House said that the PlayStation VR “will be priced as a new gaming platform”, but wouldn’t give any actual numbers.
We’re not exactly surprised by the thought the PlayStation VR might cost around £300, after all this is a first iteration virtual reality headset aimed primarly at core gamers – those willing to jump on the VR train as soon as it pulls into the station.

Aside from pricing, House talked about the amount of launch games that you’ll see for its virtual reality headset.
Apparently the plan is to have more than 10 launch titles for PlayStation VR. And that won’t be difficult. At the Tokyo Game Show there are 10 playable titles for the PlayStation VR.
There’s Rigs, published by Sony and developed by Guerilla Cambridge and a brand new Final Fantasy XIV experience from Square Enix.
“VR rewrites the rule book on how you can create games,” said House. “You’re seeing a large amount of interest and work happening among smaller teams, because it’s possible to create something in VR that is very simple but still very magical.”
