Score cheap PlayStation Plus on Black Friday? Here are your first free games

Sony has announced the December line-up of free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers.

PS4 and PS4 Pro owners with active PS Plus subscriptions will be able to download Darksiders II: The Deathinitive Edition, Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends and Forma.8.

North America subscribers also get a bonus game; Until Dawn: Rush Of Blood.

Darksiders II is probably the pick of the bunch. It’s a 2015 remaster of the hit 2012 title, which we gave a 9/10 rating to upon initial release.

Our review described it as an “epic Zelda-like adventure” with “brutal God of War-style combat. It also earned points for its deep RPG-like experience and combic book-style visuals.

“If Darksiders was God of War meets Zelda the sequel is the same with added Diablo and a dash of Prince of Persia,” reviewer Stuart Andrews concluded.

So worth it

While this month’s line up isn’t the most exciting, it’s no reason for new PS Plus buyers to question their purchase.

This year alone, PS Plus subscribers have been able to bank games like Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain, Just Cause 3, inFAMOUS: Second Son, Game of Thrones: A Telltale Game Series, Life is Strange and Until Dawn.

The gaming giant is likely catering to be catering to lots of new customers after offering 33% discounts on annual subscriptions over the last week.

Subscriptions have returned to regular pricing now, but if you missed out, there are often deals to be had from third-party retailers.
