PlayStation Now open beta launches in the UK

Sony has just launched the open beta of its PlayStation Now gaming-streaming service.

The platform has been available in the US for a while, but it’s now open for those in the UK.

PS Now lets users play PS3 games over the cloud using certain internet-connected Sony devices, including the PS4, PS3, and select Bravia TVs and Blu-ray players.

All you need to play the games is one of the above devices, a DualShock 3 or 4 controller and a broadband internet connection with at least a 5Mbps download speed.

With PS Now, you’ll be able to play a host of classic titles such as Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, The Last of Us, God of War: Ascension, BioShock Infinite, Final Fantasy XIII, Tomb Raider: Underworld, Ultra Street Fighter IV, Dead Space 3 and Mirror’s Edge.

“PS Now will put epic adventures, iconic characters and incredible PS3 games at the players’ fingertips, allowing them to play immediately without needing to wait for downloads, updates or installs – or make a trip to the shops,” said Sony.

Games will be offered at prices ranging between £2.99 to £7.99, with rental periods of 48 hours up to 30 days.

The service launches at 11am on PS4 and PS3, while select Bravia TVs and Sony Blu-ray disc players will gain access from 4pm.
