Planty lets you monitor and water your plants through an app
House plants are great while they last, but all too often our busy lives get in the way and we forget to water them. That shouldn’t be a problem thanks to Planty.
It’s an internet-connected smart plant pot that lets you keep tabs on your plants from afar. Maybe you’re sweating away in the office and you remember you forgot to water them. Usually that would spell disaster, but not with Planty. It measures your plant’s soil, temperature, light and water levels, and sends you notifications. When it gets too dry it’ll let you know, and you can water it directly through the app. Just click a button and it’ll take care of the rest.
Of course, that relies on you having filled up the water tank. So forgetful types aren’t completely off the hook.
It’s also handy for more environmental factors. If the ambient temperature is too high or low, it’ll tell you, and you can move it to another part of the room.
And it talks to other smart devices.

An LED changes colour depending on the plant’s status, so you can see how healthy it is at a glance.
It’s a great idea, the indoor equivalent of Blossom. If you’re quick you can get it for $89 (£60). If it hits its $100,000 funding target, it will ship in October.
