Pioneer has just announced it is going to offer Android Auto-friendly aftermarket products for your car.
This makes Pioneer the one of the first firms to do so, giving customers the chance to connect compatible smartphones up to its Android-powered display in a vehicle you already own.
It also means users will have access to a host of voice commands via the in-dash receivers, meaning you won’t need to be grubbing up the screen when you miss a junction halfway down up the M1.
Philippe Weyers, Marketing Comms Manager at Pioneer, said: “Integrating Android Auto into our 2015 in-car receives enables comptiable Android smartphone owners to use the power and connectivity of their devices for navigation, communications, music and more while on the road.”

Three units make up Pioneer’s new Android Auto range, all of which tout high-resolution 7-inch touchscreen displays.
Alongside this, you’ll also get an external microphone, HDMI connectivity, and Apple CarPlay compatibility too.

The AVIC-F77DAB is the priciest of the bunch (it’s the only one with a capacitive, not resistive, touchscreen too) and will cost you £1199.99.
Next up is the AVIC-F70DAB which clocks in at a less wallet-chunking £999.99.
Bottom of the price pile is the AVH-X8700BT, which will get you the Android Auto experience for a more frugal £699.99.
All three devices will start shipping in March this year, across the UK.
