Philips’ 4K HDR (Dolby Vision) televisions are likely to make the headlines at CES 2018, but we think this one is a tad more interesting.
The firm has revealed a 24-inch television rocking the Google Assistant and a built-in Google Chromecast.
The 7703 Series television (above) runs on Android TV and features an LED panel. Thanks to the built-in microphone you won’t need to touch a remote or physical buttons on the TV, you can simply issue commands using your voice.

This will make it ideal if you’re cooking or have your hands full. The set, which has a sizable speaker unit beneath the display will also serve as a music player thanks to the built-in Bluetooth functionality.
It’s coming in the second half of 2018, although Philips is yet to announce pricing.
Philips jumps into bed with Dolby Vision
Philips has also announced a range of new 4K televisions packing the Dolby Vision HDR.
The new 59 and 69 series televisions were revealed on Monday amid a flurry of massive sets, boasting new technologies.
These are significant because they represent a departure from the HDR10 standard Philips used in the 2017 HDR sets.
Dolby is snapping up an increasing segment of the HDR market, so this is definitely one to keep an eye on. Philips worked directly with Dolby for these sets to bring viewers those sought after deeper, richer colours.
Philips is also replacing its existing Ambilight backlighting technology with BrightPro, which it says offers twice the brightness.
The 59 Series starts at 43-inches and ranges all the way up to 75-inches. They have the NetTV+ smart TV system built in, meaning there’ll be 4K streaming via Netflix and all the other usual suspects.
There’s also dual band Wi-Fi, HDMI 2.0a, Sonic Emotion Premium audio, and a wide colour gamut covering 75% of all available colours.
If you’re plumping for the 69 Series televisions, you’ll get all of that good stuff, as well as the BrightPro 2 backlighting. The 69 Series sets are available in three sizes; 50-inches, 55-inches and 65-inches.
Elsewhere the company has announced the 57 Series sets, which have 4K, but no HDR and a new 4K Blu-ray player capable of upscaling 4K sources.
