PFO Shield lets friends know you’re safe when out exploring
Exploring the great outdoors is a risky business. All it takes is one freak weather incident or landslide and your adventuring could be over for good. This bracelet lets you alert friends so they know you’re safe and sound.
Just press the button, and you’ll send a message to friends letting them know where you are. If you’re in danger, pull the strap, and they’ll get an alert along with your location, so they can tell the relevant authorities, or come and find you themselves.
It uses GPS, so your location will be pin-point accurate. Friends will get your alerts and notifications through the smartphone app for iOS or Android, or through social media.
It’s a robust piece of kit and is waterproof, so it’ll withstand whatever adventures you put it through, including windsurfing, canoeing, hiking, mountain biking, snowboarding and however else you get your kicks.
You don’t need to worry about racking up a huge bill when away on your travels, either. It has an embedded SIM card that works wherever there is GSM coverage. The standard service plan includes roaming in more than 60 countries, so you won’t have to pay any extra. These include Australia, Brazil, Hong Kong, Montenegro, Russia, Slovenia and the UAE.
It’s on Kickstarter, and has 20 days left to hit its goal of kr500,000 (£42,407). It’s expected to ship in February next year.
