Periscope integration allows GoPro owners to go live

Action camera manufacturer GoPro has announced owners of its latest Hero 4 camera can now live stream content directly to Periscope.
Those using Periscope for iPhone can now access their GoPro directly from the app, allowing them to keep their iPhone stowed when recording footage.
Once the action cam is paired to the iPhone, users will see the same ‘Start Broadcast’ button within Periscope but with the option to select the GoPro as the main camera.
One linked to the camera, the app also offers a new button to lock the phone screen to ensure the broadcast isn’t interrupted while the handset is sitting in your pocket.

The inclusion of the most prominent live streaming platform offers a new lease of life to the GoPro platform.
Last summer it introduced compatibility with the rival Meerkat platform, also for iPhone users. Back in 2014 Livestream integration was added, again for iOS only.
