Panasonic Introduces Six New Lumix Models

With Sony launching three new compact cameras yesterday, Panasonic has decided to go one better announcing six new cameras in its Lumix range.

TZ30 and TZ25

Panasonic Lumix 5

The TZ30 is an update to the Panasonic DMC-TX20, with the major update being a boost from 16x optical zoom to a 20x optical zoom, starting at 24mm. It features a new 14.1 megapixel MOS sensor. It will shoot 1080p video at 50fps and Panasonic claims its image stabilisation has improved, especially when the lens is fully extended.

Panasonic Lumix 4

The Lumix DMC-TZ25 is the update to the TZ18, featuring a 24mm ultra wide angle 16x optical zoom Leica lens. It features a 12.1 megapixel High Sensitivity MOS sensor, will shoot 1080i video at 50fps and has a 3in 460k dot LCD screen on the rear. A new feature, and one we would like to see more widely adopted by camera manufacturers is USB charging as well as the conventional AC charging.
