Oppo Find 7 officially unveiled with 2K display

The Oppo Find 7 has been officially unveiled as the first smartphone to offer a QHD 2K resolution.

Ealrier this month the LG G3 was rumoured to pack a 2K resolution screen, but the Oppo Find 7 has beaten it to launch.

Oppo’s latest smartphone features a 5.5-inch QHD 2560 x 1440p resolution display with an impressive image density of 538ppi, the best screen ever seen on a smartphone.

It is powered by a 2.5Ghz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with 3GB of RAM, along with the Adreno 330 GPU.

The standard option comes with 32GB of internal storage, bolstered by a microSD slot supporting cards up to the maximum 128GB.

In the rear is a 13-megapixel camera with an IMX214 Sony sensor and dual LED flash. It has an aperture of f/2.0 and is capable of recording 4K resolution video footage.

Originally, rumours suggested the Find 7 could take 50-megapixel photographs. It is capable of such a feat, thanks to the Pure Image 2.0 technology that features 50-megapixel Super Zoom software that combines 10 photos into one 50-megapixel snap.

The front-facing camera has a 5-megapixel resolution, which is nothing to shake a stick at.

Overall, the Oppo Find 7 is powered by a 3000mAh battery and Oppo claims it can go from 0 per cent to 75 per cent charge in 30 minutes.

It runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box rather than Android 4.4 KitKat, which is one of the only areas Oppo isn’t featuring the latest mobile tech.

Full worldwide availability for the Find 7 hasn’t yet been announced, but it will be released in China on March 20 with a retail price of 3998 Yuan (£388).
