The OnePlus Watch 3 price started at $329.99, went off sale for a while after a typo on the case, returned to sale earlier this month for an insane $499.99, and is now back to a reasonable sounding $349.99.
Welcome to another day in the mad, mad world of Trump Tariffs and the havoc they’re wreaking on the tech products we love so much.
If you’re one of the unfortunate souls caught in the middle and paid five hundred notes for the privilege of owning this admittedly marvellous Wear OS watch, OnePlus is going to make it up to you.
You’ll get a $150 refund so it’s in-line with what OnePlus is calling the “final MSRP price” which “will not be changed going forward.” (via The Verge).
In a further statement, the company said adjustments in the supply chain had enabled it to lower the price closer to the originally planned fee rather than any relief from the market conditions.
It said: “This change reflects our effort to be transparent, responsive, and committed to bringing the OnePlus Watch 3 to the US at a competitive price point, despite the ongoing market conditions.”
The company says the original price hike was down to “current market conditions” which haven’t exactly changed with the 145% tariffs on goods entering the United States from China still in place. There are some exceptions for phones and other electronics, but smartwatches aren’t listed among those exemptions.
Anyway, it’s all good news for potential OnePlus Watch 3 shoppers, considering our own Lewis Painter called it the best Wear OS watch of 2025 so far.
In handing out a 4.5 star score from a possible five, Lewis concluded: “The OnePlus Watch 3 not only fixes the few complaints we had about last year’s Watch 2, but adds a swathe of new features and functionality, including a more durable design, improved tracking, multiband GPS and a boosted 120-hour battery life that perfects the Wear OS 5 experience on offer.”
Opinion
All of this uncertainty is making tech buyers nervous. You can never really be sure if you’re getting a good deal or not. My advice would be avoid buying anything that has been hiked unless you desperately need it. This could all be resolved tomorrow and then unresolved the next day once again. Hang fire if you can.
