The OnePlus Nord is coming soon, very soon indeed. OnePlus has just announced it’s launching its next affordable phone on July 21.
OnePlus has been hyping Nord for a while now and after rumours suggested the July 21 date it has now been confirmed by the brand. Due to the current situation, the launch won’t be physical like most of the usual OnePlus launches, instead it’ll be conducted in AR and VR.
“OnePlus Nord represents a new beginning for OnePlus, giving us an opportunity to share our technology with more people around the world,” said Paul Yu, Head of OnePlus Nord. “For this launch, we want everyone to sit back, relax, and experience our new phone for the first time right in the comfort of their living room. We feel that introducing Nord in a more personal and intimate way perfectly reflects our ambition to make the OnePlus experience more accessible to users.”
The show will kick off at 3pm BST on July 21 with users able to view the presentation in VR by downloading an app either for an iPhone or Android device and there will also be an app available that’ll let you see the Nord device for yourself in AR. OnePlus has said this will be an immersive experience, so it shouldn’t feel like your standard phone launch.
Even though very little is actually official about OnePlus Nord, the brand has already started offering pre-orders. It looks like another 900 units will be available for fans to order from July 8. Pre-ordering a phone without knowing the full price or many of the specs is a big ask, but OnePlus clearly believes it is something the fans are willing to do.
