OnePlus just launched the Android Nougat beta for the OnePlus 3

Android Nougat was announced earlier this year as the latest version of Google’s mobile OS, but it’s yet to reach all smartphones.
And while Chinese firm OnePlus has promised a Nougat update for its OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T handsets will arrive before year-end, users are yet to try out the new OS.
But it seems OnePlus owners are now closer than ever to getting their long-awaited upgrade, as the company has just launched Open Beta 8 for the OnePlus 3 – the latest beta version of its OxygenOS, now built using Android Nougat.

OnePlus representative Tony L took to the firm’s official forums to announce the new update, which is available to download now by following Tony’s link.
He writes: “We want to extend a huge thank you to all of you who have been participating in our beta program.
“It’s been a huge success. By sending in your feedback, bug reports, and general thoughts, you’ve made OxygenOS even better, and we’re making improvements faster than ever before.
“Today, we have a particularly exciting announcement: Open Beta 8 – built on Android Nougat – is available now for the OnePlus 3.”
The beta comes with its share of issues, but is the first chance OnePlus 3 owners have had to try out Google’s latest mobile OS on their handsets.
As Tony L explains in his post: “Given that this is a shift to a brand new version of Android, there may be more bugs in this build than previous Open Beta builds. By installing this update, you accept the potential risks.”
In other words, make sure you back everything up before you go downloading and installing the latest beta.
