OnePlus 2 invite expiry extended to three days
The invitation system used to purchase OnePlus smartphones has always been controversial, but the company is hoping to improve the process.
OnePlus has increased the expiry time of OnePlus 2 invites to three days.
Previously, anyone who received a OnePlus 2 invite to buy or to pass on was forced to use it within 24 hours.
If the invite wasn’t redeemed within that period, it would become invalid and the purchase window for that specific code was closed forevermore.
However, would-be customers now have an extended grace period in which to make a purchase.
The 24-hour expiry has been a pain-point for customers in the past. For instance, if someone didn’t have computer access within 24 hours of receiving an invite, the person would miss out on purchasing the handset.
While the invite-only system will still plague wannabe OnePlus 2 owners, it’s now a little easier to get your hands on a phone.

The OnePlus 2 launched earlier this year, landing as the company’s second-ever smartphone.
A third handset from the firm is expected to launch later this year, although it’s tipped to be more of a mid-range offering.
