Oculus founder happy to open the door to VR porn
The future of virtual reality is filled with possibilities and, according to the founder of Oculus at least, that future will almost certainly include a sizeable dose of porn.
Speaking at the Silicon Valley Virtual Reality Conference recently, Oculus founder Palmer Luckey was questioned on the company’s view on VR porn and whether the Facebook-owned firm would look to block the rise of virtual-world smut.
His answer? Well, you should expect to get your rocks off with the help of a sizeable headset sometime soon.
Remaining somewhat diplomatic in his answer, Luckey confirmed that VR – through Oculus at least – will keep its doors open for the adult industry.
For those having exhausted their options on Tinder, VR porn could offer a far more immersive way to fulfil their otherwise unfulfilled urges in the comfort of their own home.
It is unsurprising that the porn business is already looking to the benefits of VR, with the industry well known for its backing of new technologies.
From VHS to DVD, 3D to 4K, the porn industry has often championed emerging home entertainment tech.
According to Alex Helmy, founder of adult mag, Xbiz (via Stuff) VR could render traditional 2D means of titillation a distant memory.
