The Note 8 is coming, and Samsung will be looking to impress this time around, following the success of the Galaxy S8.
The biggest rumour we’ve been hearing in the run-up to the phablet’s release is it will come sporting a dual-camera setup on the rear.
It was a feature which many expected to see on the S8, and now it looks like we might see it arrive on the Galaxy C10 ahead of the Note launch, if recent leaks are to be believed.
This week, however, we’ve got a new set of images purporting to show the Note 8 in dummy unit form, and with them comes a new rumour to help build the anticipation.

Posted to Chinese social media site Weibo (via), the photos show the front and back of what’s claimed to be a Note 8 dummy unit.
Seeing the back of the phone, if that is indeed what’s shown in the images, is interesting not only because it seems to confirm the dual-lens setup, but also because it looks like there could be some changes to fingerprint sensing on the Note 8.
Samsung opted to mount its fingerprint sensor on the rear of the Galaxy S8, after many were expecting the company to introduce a version of the sensor integrated into the phone’s display.
Whether the firm ran out of time, or just couldn’t get the tech to work remains unclear, but it seems, if the latest images are accurate, Sammy might just have figured it out in time for the Note 8 launch.
In the shots, below the vertical dual-camera cutouts (which closely resemble recent Galaxy C10 dual-camera leaks) there doesn’t appear to be any space or cutout for a fingerprint sensor.
This suggests Samsung may well introduce the phablet with a sensor integrated into the screen, though these photos are far from confirmation.
There’s no way to know whether the shots are legitimate, and Samsung is yet to confirm its fingerprint-sensing plans for the phone, so the usual pinch of salt stuff applies here.
We’re expecting the Note 8 to arrive later this year, around August/September, and there’s sure to be a slew of leaks in the run-up to launch so stay tuned.
