Nokia X Android phone specs leaked again, suggest low-end device

Specs for the heavily rumoured Nokia X Android phone have leaked online again, confirming rumours it is a low-end device.

With a launch expected as soon as MWC 2014 next month, it’s not surprising leaks and rumours surrounding the codenamed Nokia Normandy Android phone have been pretty frequent of late.

The latest specs leak comes courtesy of notorious and rather reliable tipster @evleaks and support the idea of Nokia’s first Android handset being a low-end variety.

According to the tweet, the Nokia X will come with a 1GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor with 512MB of RAM.

It will also supposedly offer 4GB of internal storage, buffered by a microSD card slot and powered by a 1500mAh battery.

In the rear will be a 5-megapixel camera, with no mention of a front-facing option in the latest leak or any other previously.

Within a supposed Lumia like design in six colours, the Nokia X will run Android 4.4 KitKat on a 4-inch WVGA screen.

The latest specs sheet also highlights the inclusion of dual-SIM, but we doubt this will be an option for UK consumers if the phone is launched in this country.

The Nokia X will apparently be offered from the Nokia Store itself, as well as third party retailers and network providers.

Earlier this week, the Nokia X was listed on a huge Vietnamese retailer site with a very similar list of specs, including some Google services like Gmail, Google Play, Google Now and YouTube listed among the low-end hardware.

We’ve already seen a fair few screengrabs of the heavily Windows Phone influenced Nokia Android UI, which features bright, colourful block app icons.

Nokia’s Android bloatware is expected to be just as heavy as the Fire OS used in Amazon products like the Kindle Fire HDX 7.
