Nokia Windows Phone 8 flagship device specs rumoured

We all know that Nokia will be the leading company to offer Windows Phone 8 handsets when it finally launches. Now we’ve had further confirmation of its lead device’s specs.

The rumoured info comes from Eldar Murtazin, a Russian blogger who has the mysterious knack of getting his hands on Nokia hardware well ahead of release.

Murtazin reports that the so-called Nokia Phi will sport a 4.7-inch OLED display. That will be the biggest screen on a Nokia device by some margin if so – the Nokia Lumia 900 currently holds that title at 4.3-inches.

As for the quality of the OLED display itself, he says ““The screen is very nice, with no points or complaints possible against it.” As you may be able to tell, these comments have been translated from their native Russian.

According to Murtazin’s report, the Nokia Phi will feature a microSD card slot. He also reveals that it will be slimmer than the Nokia Lumia 800 and Nokia Lumia 900.

As you might expect given that huge screen, not to mention the advanced Windows Phone 8 OS (which is based on Windows 8) and likely multi-core processor, battery life on the Phi isn’t meant to be too great. In fact, even with a high capacity battery it can apparently only get through a single day of use.

We know that Nokia has called for a special event on September 5, which will inevitably see the launch of its first wave of Windows Phone 8 devices. Murtazin adds further colour to this, though, by claiming that the Phi device will hit shops in October.
