Last week leaked information suggested that Nokia would launch a pair of Windows Phone smartphones at Mobile World Congress along with what could be the final ever Symbian smartphone, the PureView 808 – and a new video suggests it could have a pretty impressive camera.
The teaser trailer has been posted on YouTube by Nokia with the title: “Get ready to capture a pure view.” The short 22 second video shows some beautiful snow scenes with tag lines of Pure Details, Pure Depth and Pure Definition. Finally the video tells us that all will be revealed on 27 February at Mobile World Congress.
The video is available in 1080p resolution which could suggest that Nokia is preparing to launch its first phone with the capability to record Full HD video. The head of Nokia imaging, Damian Dinning recently said on Twitter: “when we do 1080, we’ll do it like no other.”
Not much else is known about the Nokia PureView 808 other than it will be a full touchscreen device along the lines of the N8 and will bring the curtain down on 15 years if Symbian devices.
In other Nokia news, Reuters is quoting two sources stating Nokia will launch a cheaper Windows Phones smartphone next week which should be the much-rumoured Lumia 610. The company will also launch the global version of the Lumia 900 which initially launched only in the US.
