Nokia Lumia 1020 release date sees cameraphone hit the UK today

Nokia has confirmed that the Nokia Lumia 1020 is launching in the UK today, September 12.

However, this doesn’t mean you can actually purchase one today, as the UK network providers who have already confirmed availability for the 41-megapixel camera touting smartphone, still won’t let you buy one.

In fact, only Three has offered any indication of pricing for the Nokia Lumia 1020, which runs Windows Phone 8 on a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor with 2GB of RAM.

With a 41-megapixel camera and Carl Zeiss technology, the Nokia Lumia 1020 offers a 4.5-inch 1280 x 768p resolution AMOLED screen on which to view those lovely pictures.

Three
Three are offering the Nokia Lumia 1020 32GB model from £34 on its 24-month Ultimate Internet 500 plan, which offers all-you-can-eat data, 500 minutes and 5,000 texts. You’ll have to pay a £69 upfront cost for the Nokia Lumia 1020, which will arrive on September 24.

Available in Black or Yellow, Three is bundling a free accessories pack with the Lumia 1020. The smartphone can also be purchased on a PAYG tariff for £549.99.

Of course, if you opt to buy the Lumia 1020 with Three, you can automatically upgrade to 4G for free when the network launches  later this year.

O2
The bubble-themed UK network provider has also confirmed it is stocking the Nokia Lumia 1020, but hasn’t updated its website at the time of writing. It currently states that the camera-centric smartphone will be available sometime this month in yellow or black 32GB models.

It has yet to offer any tariff or PAYG pricing details for the smartphone as yet.

Vodafone
There has also been word that Vodafone will stock the Lumia 1020, but the smartphone isn’t yet listed on the network’s website. Therefore, we can’t give you any pricing or availability details for now, but will update this page with any information when it comes through.

For now you can register your interest on Vodafone site for the device though.

EE and mobile retailers
EE hasn’t mentioned any availability for the Nokia Lumia 1020 on its 4GEE tariffs, and the 41-megapixel smartphone is also absent from the pages of the Phones 4U and Carphone Warehouse websites.
