No Man’s Sky Records: How many species have been discovered?

No Man’s Sky has been out for less than 24 hours and players have already discovered more species throughout the galaxy than exist on Earth.

This is a seriously impressive achievement, showcasing just how vast and ambitious the world Hello Games has created truly is.

While players have already started bumping into each other, the potentially endless variety of wildlife strewn across the galaxy is certainly keeping us busy.

Hello Games’ Sean Murray took to Twitter to express his disbelief regarding the discovery.

10 million might seem like a ridiculously high number, but it’s a clear testament to the procedural technology found under the hood of No Man’s Sky.

All the environments, resources and wildlife you come across are unique, and the odds of you stumbling by another player are incredibly small.
