Nintendo’s SNES Classic Mini is back in stock, but you’ll need to hurry

Nintendo’s SNES Classic Mini is back in stock once again, but you’ll need to hurry to snap one up at its original price of £69.99.

Released last year in limited amounts, Nintendo has kept re-stocking its remake of the retro yet iconic games console, only for them to sell-out extremely quickly.

Now the SNES Classic Mini is back in stock on Nintendo’s own store, giving people keen for some old-school gaming but on a modern TV, another chance to buy the dinky console.

Purchases are limited to one per person which should help prevent early-birds from hoovering up the supply of SNES Minis and then reselling them on eBay and the Amazon Marketplace for extortionately high prices.

At the time of writing, we spotted the SNES Mini on Amazon for an eye-watering £106, with other non-Nintendo sellers using Amazon to hawk the console for at least £94. Essentially, outside of the Nintendo Store, the market for SNES Minis is a bit of a Wild West situation.

Despite the Nintendo Switch helping with the resurgence of the Japanese games company back into the home console market, the SNES Mini fulfils a unique spot in being not only neatly designed but also allowing people to play retro games that aren’t available legitimately without owning an original SNES.

And the SNES Classic Mini includes Star Fox 2, a game which never actually made it to the original SNES. So the combination of hardware, access to games not available on Nintendo’s Virtual Console, and the ability to tap into nostalgia, means the SNES Mini is a retro console with bucket loads of appeal.
