Here’s what Universal’s $350m Nintendo theme park will look like

We’ve known it’s been in the works for a while, but Universal Studio’s Nintendo theme park is finally starting to take shape.

New details about the upcoming Nintendo theme park have been revealed.

It turns out that the park will be built in Japan, not the USA, which means it will be on home soil for Nintendo.

The report – by Japanese outlet Sankei – also revealed an early map of what the park would look like, which included a designated “Mario area”.

Sankei says the Mario area is set to be completed by 2020, which is the same year as the Tokyo Olympics.

It also says that the Mario section will be built to the same sort of scale and quality of Universal’s Harry Potter attraction in the US.
