Nintendo Direct is here to stay, but Nintendo isn’t ready to announce a new host just yet.
Speaking to IGN at the Tokyo Games Show earlier this week, Nintendo confirmed that “Nintendo Directs will continue.”
However the company has “no details to provide now on who will be featured or the topics that will be covered.”
Nintendo Directs ceased after the untimely passing of former Nintendo president, Satoru Iwata, earlier this year.
Satoru Iwata passed away due to complications with a bile duct tumour on 11 July 2015.
The broadcasts were used to directly provide us with information on the latest Nintendo games and consoles.
Directs were also the company’s primary tool for announcing new products and services, such as Amiibo and the New Nintendo 3DS.
Satoru Iwata would work alongside a talented team of developers to produce a mixture of interviews, announcements and gameplay demonstrations.

Nintendo Direct was a unique, heartfelt and genuine way for Nintendo to communicate with its audience minus the bloated business jargon of other AAA companies.
Tatsumi Kimishima was named the new president of Nintendo this week, but it’s unknown if he’ll be appointed as the new host of Nintendo Direct.
Mario and Zelda creator Shigeru Miyamoto and Nintendo of America’s Reggie Fils-Aimé would be ideal hosts for broadcast.
Kimishima has said that he doesn’t plan to change the course set out for the company by Iwata, and will continue to expand into the mobile market.
The company’s new platform, the Nintendo NX, is set to be revealed in 2016.
