“
Discussing the company’s future 4K plans, he added: “It is a bit tricky, it’s not something that we are purposefully excluding from our cameras; however we need to approach it carefully.
“There are high-end cameras that produce this but it just puts such a load on the equipment.”
Hinting that future Nikon DSLRs could play host to 4K video recording capabilities, a feature not yet present on any of the company’s cameras, Kiknadaze stated: “For us, because consumers are demanding it we are aware of this and will be looking into it for the future.”
While Nikon has to date avoided adding 4K options to its leading camera lines, earlier this month rival Sony unveiled a dedicated 4K handycam video recorder, a device that will set you back a smidge under £2,000.
