Nikon Announces New Cameras For Spring

Eight new models include L and S series compacts, plus new 24x zoom bridge camera

With the PMA trade show in America and the UK’s Focus On Imaging show in Birmingham coming up, Nikon has announced a an impressive line-up of new cameras, adding models to its budget L-series, its premium S-series, and introducing an impressive new super-zoom bridge camera into its advanced P-series.

First up are two new models in the consumer-oriented L-series. The AA-powered L19 and L20 feature large-sized buttons and controls, and a 3-inch and 2.7-inch LCD monitor on the L20 and L19 respectively. Shooting options include Full-Auto Mode, Scene Auto Selector, Smile Mode and Blink Warning. Both cameras will be available later this month. The 8.0-megapixel L19 will be priced at £99.99, while the 10.0-megapixel L20 will be £129.99.

Also joining the L-series is the new L100. This is equipped with a 10.0-megapixel sensor, EXPEED image processing engine and a high quality 15x zoom Nikkor lens with a 28mm-equivalent wide angle setting.

It has a number of advanced features including sensor shift image stabilisation, a 13fps continuous shooting mode and in-camera red-eye correction. Shooting modes include Scene Auto Selector, Blink Warning and D-Lighting. Maximum sensitivity is 3200 ISO.

The L100 will be available from March, priced at £239.99.
