Nike will release its first consumer-ready self-lacing sneakers on December 1, but the reported price tag will keep them off the feet of all, save the most affluent enthusiasts.
According to Jacques Slade, a YouTuber famed for his sneaker affinity, the HyperAdapt 1.0 trainers will cost $720 (around £575).

The HyperAdapt shoes, which were revealed in March, are a riff on beloved the AirMag sneakers with ‘power laces’ made famous by Back To The Future II.
“When you step in, your heel will hit a sensor and the system will automatically tighten,” Nike’s Tiffany Beers said upon the unveiling.
“Then there are two buttons on the side to tighten and loosen. You can adjust it until it’s perfect.”
LED lights placed in the feels will light up when they are tightening, while the battery will last two weeks per charge. Recharging takes three hours.
Earlier reports on Monday had suggested they’d cost unto $1,000 (£800), so it could have been worse.
