Packaging for Google’s upcoming duo of Nexus phones appears to have leaked, confirming their names in the process.
A report last week claimed that the new Nexus phones, set to be manufactured by LG and Huawei, would be dubbed the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P respectively.
The Nexus 5X will reportedly sport a 5.2-inch display while the Nexus 6P will come with a 5.7-inch screen.
Now Android Police has published pictures of the packaging for these two phones. As you can see, each box is adorned with a large letter, seemingly confirming the aforementioned naming scheme.
There’s a noticeable difference in packaging design, though. The Nexus 5X appears to be getting a squarer, sharper edged box, while the Nexus 6P packaging has rounded edges – perhaps as a nod to the very different phone designs we’ve been seeing for the two.
The report points out that the satellite images showing through both stylised letters are likely to be new stock Android 6.0 Marshmallow wallpapers.
The boxes also contain a classic Nexus logo, the storage capacity of the phone within (in this case, 32GB for both), and a small silhouette of the phone.

Google will officially unveil the new Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P at an event to be held on September 29 – that’s next Tuesday.
Also likely to appear at the event are further details concerning Android 6.0 Marshmallow, a new Nexus tablet, and a revamped version of the Google Chromecast.
