Google Nexus 10 pictures leaked by Google

Google executive Vic Gundotra has leaked photographs apparently taken on the forthcoming Google Nexus 10 tablet.

The Senior Vice President of Engineering for Google recently posted a couple of picturesque beach-side photos onto his Google account. Listed in the ‘Photo details’ section, the camera is referred to quite explicitly as “Nexus 10.”

As we reported earlier in the week, it’s believed that Google will be launching a Google Nexus 10 tablet at its October 29 event, alongside the LG Nexus 4 smartphone. While the smartphone will be manufactured by LG, it’s Google’s other South Korean partner, Samsung, that will apparently be producing the Google Nexus 10.

Sources close to Google’s plans claim that the Samsung Nexus 10 will feature a 2,560 x 1,600p display, which would certainly show the iPad 4 display what for on the sharpness front.

Looking closer at Vic Gundotra’s photographs taken from a Nexus 10, they appear to be 3.1-megapixels in size. This isn’t necessarily an indicator of the final Nexus 10 camera spec – the image may have been shrunken from the original size for the sake of a speedy upload.

More revealing is the above shot, which shows off some nifty High Dynamic Range (HDR) work, allowing the clouded-over sun to be shot without bleaching out the rest of the image. This bodes well, if you’re one of those strange types who uses your 10-inch tablet camera for external snaps like Vic here.

We’ll know for sure once Google holds its launch event on Monday.
