Next Apple Pencil may have an eraser and new tips

A newly unearthed patent suggests Apple has plans to improve its don’t-call-it-a-stylus Pencil.
AppleInsider has the details on a filing that reveals a new Pencil complete with an eraser and interchangeable tips.
According to the USPTO document, there’d be a host of nib options, ranging from felt pens to motion tracking cameras.
It also mentions a force-sensing bristle brush and a flashlight. There’s even talk of a lead tip that would then translate on-paper doodles onto the digital screen.
The Apple Pencil debuted along the iPad Pro late last year and is also compatible with the new 9.7-inch version of the professionally-slanted slate.

It’s unlikely any new version of the accessory would arrive until Apple refreshes the line up.
That’ll be October at the earliest.
Oh, and it’s a stylus. #SorryNotSorry.
