New Yakuza title could be announced at Tokyo Games Show next week
SEGA seem to be gearing up to announce a new title in the Yakuza franchise at the Tokyo Games Show next week.
An image posted to the Yakuza portal website shows a September 15 date, which just so happens to be the very same day as Sony’s Press Conference at TGS. 
This year also marks the franchise’s 10th anniversary. so we may be in for an exciting announcement next week.
The very first Yakuza title released back in 2005 exclusively for the Playstation 2, with future games remaining exclusive to the Playstation platform.
Yakuza creator Toshihiro Nagoshi teased the announced in an interview with Siliconera last month:
“We’ll announce [a new title] at Tokyo Game Show, and it’ll be a good one,” he said.
“And I believe that Sega’s live showing at Tokyo Game Show will be the most exciting one we’ve seen in a while.”

It has been years since the release of a Yakuza title in the UK, with the series not proving too popular with us British folk.
The last entry in the cult franchise to launch in the UK was Yakuza: Dead Souls in 2012.
A tongue-in-cheek zombie spin-off that thrust existing characters into a Japanese style zombie apocalypse, complete with alien crab monsters.
The franchise has proven to be a commercial and critical success back in Japan, selling over 7.8 million units as of November 2014.
We are still waiting on SEGA to localise more recent titles, but we won’t hold our breath.
Yakuza 5 is coming to PS3 as a digital-only release later this year.
