New MacBook Pro users should give Boot Camp the boot for now

Reports this week have suggested the Boot Camp program that enables Macs to run Windows, may be causing problems for users of the brand new MacBook Pro.

Some users are claiming Boot Camp with Windows 10 is causing speaker issues and even permanent physical damage.

Those MacBook Pro users say they’re experiencing distorted audio when the volume is at 50% and above, as well loud volume pop outs.

It has been theorised the problem may be because of outdated Boot Camp drivers for macOS Sierra.

Apple, via AppleInsider, has advised anyone experiencing the problem to make a Genuis Bar appointment or contact Apple Care over the phones.

The site suggests using headphones or plug-in speakers to avoid the problem as this method by-passes the speakers completely.

One user posted on Reddit explaining his speakers had been physically damaged by the issue.

He wrote: “After going to the Genius Bar today, the technicians confirmed the speakers were physically damaged, so it’s not a software issue.

“According to other Reddit users, they also won’t be equipped to repair the speakers until mid-December. So I ended up ordering a new one.”

The problem appears to be limited to Apple’s Boot Camp software as those using the like-minded Parallels tool are experiencing no such problems.
