New iPhone 6 leak claims to offer clearest look yet at 4.7-inch handset

Less than a month before the expected launch of the next-generation iPhone 6 handsets, new images have emerged online claiming to show the 4.7-inch handset’s casing in all its glory.

MacRumours has published photos from luxury iPhone seller Feld & Volk which appear to show the handset’s front panel and rear casing placed together.

In the last few weeks there have been plentiful leaks showing those components separately, but this appears to be the first time both have been combined to show the complete outer casing. Other leaks have reportedly shown the finished device running iOS 8, but with less visual clarify.

The series of images shows the rumoured redesigned rounded chassis, soft corners and ultra-thin profile Apple is expected to show off when it launches the iPhone 6 in early September. The handset is expected to be just 7mm thin compared with the 7.6mm profile offered by the current iPhone 5S.

The design, it seems, will be somewhere between the iPhone 3GS (which was the last curved handset) and the current models with the slimmer metallic profiles. If the photos, and previous leaks, can be believed, the next iPhones will offer a significant departure in terms of design along with those larger screen sizes.

It is thought that Apple will reveal 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch handsets running the new iOS 8 operating system at an event in California on September 9, although that’s yet to be officially confirmed.
