Another new iOS 8 bug has emerged that affects Bluetooth connectivity in cars.
Less than a week after Apple released iOS 8.0.2, which is effectively a fix of a fix itself, another problem has come to light.
Various forums have seen complaints from iPhone users of Bluetooth connectivity problems since updating to iOS 8. Many users are having problems connecting their devices to their car sound system.
This issue seems to affect both those who have update to iOS 8 on older iPhones and those who have bought the new iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus.
The issue appears to be manifesting itself in a number of ways. Some users are unable to pair their devices, while others can connect but can’t get any sound out of the speakers. Still others report of a disconnection when calls come in.
Over on the MacRumours forum, there’s an ongoing thread that includes instances of these issues in cars from a number of manufacturers. These include Hyundai, BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, Toyota, Ford, and more.
It may not be just cars that are falling foul of iOS 8’s buggy Bluetooth either. Other users claim to have problems pairing with speakers, headphones, and headsets too.
iOS 8.0.2 doesn’t seem to have fixed these issues, but some users who have installed the first iOS 8.1 developer beta have reported that the Bluetooth issues seems to have gone.
iOS 8.1 is likely to launch later in October, and it is expected to feature the much-anticipated Apple Pay mobile payment system for US users – and hopefully a fair few bug fixes to boot.
