New GTA 5 trailer offers new insight into game’s lead characters

A new GTA 5 trailer has been officially unveiled with publisher Rockstar offering gamers a more detailed look at the upcoming title’s three lead characters.

Broken down into three distinct sections, one for each of the game’s trio of protagonists, the latest GTA 5 trailer offers new insights on Michael, Franklin and Trevor, as well as showing how the lives of the three lead characters are set to intersperse throughout the game’s narrative.

Three dramatically different characters with presumed missions to match, the new GTA 5 trailer kicks off with Michael, a successful mobster turned family man who is struggling to balance a peaceful life whilst keeping his toe in the world of action and crime. Showcasing more of the game’s setting’s Michael’s character appears set to feature heavily in aspects of the game set in Vinewood, the in-game representation of Hollywood.

Following Michael in the three part GTA 5 trailer is Franklin, an inner-city gangbanger with reckless action and violence at the core of his scenes. Finally is Trevor, a hillbilly drug dealer that looks set to cause and create all manner of trouble and problems for the other two characters.

According to recent reports, gamers will be able to jump between characters’ perspectives during missions involving more than one of the lead protagonists, offering new vantage points on the situation at hand.

Having previously set a launch for ‘spring 2013’, Rockstar confirmed delays earlier this year with a new September 17 GTA 5 release date now on the cards. Confirmed for a PS3 and Xbox 360 launch, recent rumours have suggested that a GTA 5 PS4 release might not occur for a number of years.
