New GTA 5 screenshots show off skydiving, motorbiking, miniguning action

New GTA 5 screenshots have been released online, with publisher Rockstar showing off a selection of the game’s upcoming features.

Offering new insight into the gaming potential of the upcoming title, the ten new GTA 5 screenshots show off a selection of the game’s settings and locations, as well as a raft of activities gamers will be able to carry out, including skydiving, scuba diving and motorbike riding.

Remaining extremely tight lipped whilst offering the new visuals for the eagerly awaited game, Rockstar has failed to provide any new details on the game beyond showing a selection of elements set to feature within the title, opening up the gaming world to a bevy of new experiences.

Building on features present in past GTA offerings, the new title looks set to all for underwater swimming for the first time as well as offering more realistic sky diving action. On top of this, the game looks set to provide a wide selection of transportation methods with Rockstar showing off a range of cars and motorbikes set to feature.

Formally expected to launch in ‘spring 2013’, Rockstar earlier this year revealed that the long awaited GTA 5 release date had been delayed until September 17, an announcement which caused widespread anger from expectant fans.

The first new GTA 5 screenshots to hit the web in some time, Rockstar recently defended its slow release on game assets, suggesting the move will help ensure the game hits its maximum potential when finally released.

“As we have said before, we have often had long gaps between asset releases on previous games and will continue to do so in the future,” the publisher stated. “We are sorry if you find this frustrating, but please understand, we don’t do this because we ‘don’t care about our fans’. ‘don’t respect our fans’, ‘hate GTA fans stc’.

“We do it because we want to make sure we only release 100 per cent correct information, and because we want to keep plenty back for the actual game release so there are still lots of surprises when you play it.”
