New Entertainment Machines From PC World

You can now buy the latest Intel technology from your local high street PC World store.

If you’re the type that prefers to go into a shop to buy something than order online, then you may be pleased to know that PC World have launched three new high specification PCs.

Coming under its Advent brand, the new PC are aimed at the home market. The entry level model the Advent T9201 features a 3.4GHz Pentium 4 with 512MB of DDR RAM. It is based on the Intel 865 chipset and has on board LAN and 5.1 sound. Other highlights are the ATI Radeon 9550 graphics card with 256MB of memory, a dual-layer burning 16-speed recordable DVD drive, and a 17in DVI connected TFT display. This package comes in under the £1000 mark.


According to PC World the higher specified Advent T9301 and T9401 are, “designed for experienced PC users who demand ultimate power and cutting edge technology”. What this means is that they are based on Intel’s new Granstdale chipsets, for higher I/O throughput and use multiple hard disks to offer a total of 400GB in the T9301, and 500GB in the T940.

Wireless 54G LAN is integrated into these machines as well as wireless keyboards and mice. They also feature larger 19in TFTs, eight channels of surround sound and benefit from 1GB of memory. The T9301 has an ATI Radeon X300 PCI Express graphics card, while the T9401 features an X600XT PCI Express card. The machines cost £1,399 and £1,599 respectively, including VAT.

The machines will be available in all PC World stores and online from from 22 August and have a one-year on-site warranty.
