Apple has added augmented the App Store section of its new Apple TV set-top box with a Categories menu to make finding new content easier.
The early update for the hockey puck, which went on sale last week, will make the large array of third party games and video apps much more visible.
Out of the box, the tvOS app store only had a ‘Featured’ section, which had angered developers who’d endeavoured to get games out for the end of October launch.
Taking to the Apple’s developer forums to air his grievance, developer Brian Greenstone the founder of Pangea Software wrote: “I just worked my ass off for the last two months getting five games ready for launch day.
“And now I see that there’s absolutely no way to discover the apps unless a user explicitly searches for it. This is such a slap in the face to all of the developers who have been working so hard.”
Now the App Store more closely resembles its counterpart on iOS devices, including Top Charts for games and entertainment, the company has quickly addressed developer concerns that only titles Apple featured would gain visibility
