Netflix breaks from full series dumps with new talk show

Netflix has, until this point, hung its hat on allowing subscribers to consume entire new series’ in one sitting.
The company has argued that releasing originals all at once places the power in the hands of the viewer to enjoy as they see fit, rather than by appointment.
Handler’s new late night show will air three days a week on Netflix on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights.

Although all episodes will still be available on demand, the release in May will be the first time Netflix has asked viewers to tune in at a certain time in order to watch new episodes.
“It’s an election year. Good timing, girl,” Handler said in a handwritten note-to-self memo posted to Twitter on Wednesday.

Netflix is yet to announce a title for the show, which will premiere on May 11.
