Need for Speed reboot beta coming soon

Electronic Arts will be holding a closed beta for Need for Speed on PS4 and Xbox One.

A “Beta Page” has appeared on the official Need for Speed website, where players can sign up for the upcoming beta on either PS4 or Xbox One.

There is no mention of the beta taking place on PC, which will remain console exclusive for the time being.

Developer Ghost Games has said that the purpose of the beta test is to “perform a number of technical tests to help the team get ready for launch.”

Those who take part in the upcoming beta will have to agree to a lengthy agreement, which can be seen here.

Registration for the upcoming Need for Speed beta will close on Friday, September 25.

The lucky few will be notified by e-mail about their participation in the beta, along with instructions on how to install and play the game.

Ghost Games has warned that “space is limited so we may not be able to accept all players who register,” when talking about the closed nature of the test.

The upcoming Need for Speed reboot will combine live-action cutscenes and characters with its gameplay, something we don’t see too often nowadays.

It will also require an internet connection to play, with a decent amount of post-launch DLC already in the pipeline.

This will be the first Need for Speed title since Need for Speed: Rivals in 2013, a launch title for the PS4 and Xbox One.

Need for Speed launches on November 3 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
