N64 turns 20: The 12 most epic boss fights

Forget the EU Referendum because today’s big news is that the Nintendo 64 turned 20 years old. Happy birthday, Nintendo!

Nintendo’s legendary console was released on June 23, 1996, and is fondly remembered as one of the greatest platforms of all time. That’s despite the headache-inducing, controller-smashing boss fights that somehow managed to have us coming back for more punishment over and over again.

To celebrate the good old days, here are ten of the very best (or most frustrating, depending on your perspective) N64 boss fight videos:

#12. Skedar Leader Encounter – Perfect Dark

#11. Final Confrontation – Turok

#10. Alec – Goldeneye 007

#9. Mewtwo – Pokémon Stadium

#8. King Bob-omb – Super Mario 64

#6. Gruntilda – Banjo-Kazooie

#5. King K. Rool – Donkey Kong 64
