Moto Z ‘Style Mod’ modules strut their stuff

Images of the forthcoming Moto Z’s ‘Style Mod’ modules appear to have leaked online.
If all goes as expected, we’ll be seeing the Moto Z announced later this week. Reports suggest it’ll be the first in a new flagship line that replaces the Moto X family.
Besides a brand new design, the most exciting thing about the Moto Z will be its modular feature. It seems you’ll be able to replace the rear panel with a range of special-use modules, which will likely be called Moto Mods.
Now we appear to have been offered a glimpse at the Style Mod family, courtesy of reliable Motorola tipster hellomotoHK.
Though this looks likely to be the least exciting of the Mod varieties on offer – Style Mods essentially look to be cosmetic modifications – it’s interesting to see the options that will be available.
Indeed, the variety of Style Mod options leads us to wonder whether this means the end of Motorola’s unique Moto Maker provision. Rather than customising your Moto Z to order, Motorola would essentially be placing the creative onus on you, the customer.

We’re looking forward to seeing the other mods in the range. Previous reports suggest that these will also include a Pro camera Mod, Adventure Mod, Theater Mod, Stereo Mod, and Power Mod.
Those that require power would seemingly gain this from a cluster of of 16 pins located on the lower-rear of the Moto Z, which has been highlighted in a number of leaked snaps.
