Moto X Pure Edition (Moto X Style) pre-orders start tomorrow in US
Motorola has announced that the Moto X Pure Edition – elsewhere known as the Moto X Style – will be available for pre-orders in the United States on Wednesday.
Those ordering the $399 device from tomorrow will be first in line to receive the flagship phablet when it is officially released on September 13 in the US.
So far Moto has only committed to a “September” release date for the UK version, which was announced in late July.
The impressive-sounding phablet features a 5.7-inch QHD display and a 21-megapixel rear-facing camera, capable of shooting 4K video. It also has a wide-angle front-facing 5-megapixel snapper.
The Moto X Pure Edition/Moto X Style also packs a 3,000Ah battery pack, which will last for 30 hours. Motorola is also claiming it is the world’s fastest charging phone (50 per cent faster than the Samsung Galaxy S6).
Prices will start at £359 for the 16GB model, when it eventually goes on sale in the UK, while 32GB and 64GB handsets will be more expensive. Users can also expand storage themselves via the microSD slot.

As it’s Moto, it’ll also be compatible with the Moto Maker tool, meaning there are casing options in leather, wood, and rubber, with metallic accents and engraving available too.
In our hands on preview, our first impressions were that “it might not have all their bells and whistles, but it is solid where it counts – screen, design and camera. Its biggest competitor may well be the Moto X Play. That has the same camera and a bigger battery although the screen is lower-res and the processor a step down. At £279, though, it’s a fair bit cheaper.”
