Motorola is set to hold an event on September 4, when it’ll launch the Moto 360, Moto X+1, and Moto S. Now this leaked screen cover hints at what to expect from the latter.
The Moto S – or Moto Shamu as it’s also been called – looks set to have dual front-facing speakers, similar to the HTC One M8 – though we’ll have to wait and see if they’re as loud as HTC’s BoomSound speakers.
The Moto S is believed to be linked to the upcoming Nexus 6 handset, so we could see that device have the same speaker arrangement.
The Nexus 5 has only one speaker – despite the two speaker grilles – and it’s on the bottom of the device. So rest it on a table or in your lap while listening to a song or watching a film, and the audio will be muffled.
Dual front-facing speakers, however, should sound much clearer.
So what else can we expect from the device? It’s expected to have a 5.2-inch screen with a 2560 x 1440-pixel resolution – also known as QHD. It’s the same resolution as seen on the LG G3, which melted our eyeballs when we reviewed it.
Inside, a 2.6GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor will buddy up with 3GB of RAM. All of which should make for stellar performance.
September 4 is only a couple of weeks away. European tech show IFA is also happening at the same time, so we should be in for an avalanche of new tech. Stay tuned, we’ll bring you all the news as we get it.
